Out-of-Home Dog Sitting
Our out-of-home dog sitting option features a day/night stay for your dog at the Dog Sitter’s own home. Each home is clean, comfortable, and designed to accommodate dogs.
The Dog Sitter will pick up and drop off your dog during the designated times below. Pick up times are between 8:00-9:30 am. Drop off/evening pick up times will be between 5:00-7:00 pm.

*Note: care on the first day will be considered a “full day” regardless of the start time. If, on the last day, care for your dog ends prior to 12:30 pm it is considered a “half day” of care. Any time after 12:30 pm will be considered a “full day”.

Would you be able to pick up and/or drop off my dog?
Yes, pick up and drop off is complementary for any dog that lives within the District of Columbia. For those in Virginia and Maryland, we have a central pick up and drop off point that we can coordinate with you. Alternatively, you may drop off or pick up your pet directly at the pet sitter's home.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations made with at least 24 hours notice will receive a full refund. Cancellations made without 24 hours notice will incur a non-refundable 15% fee.
Holiday Visit Cancellations: Please understand we are very busy for all holiday seasons and we fill up quickly. If visits are canceled in the last few days prior to service, we can’t refill those spots. Any cancellation within 1 week prior to the first scheduled visit will be incur a 15% charge and within 3 days a 50% charge.
Will you let me know how my pet is doing while I am away?
Yes, absolutely! We will keep you posted with personal messages and pictures throughout the stay.
What happens in an emergency?
We will do everything in our capacity to ensure that your pet is safe and secure throughout the pet sit. We will follow any emergency recommendations that you have provided and will keep you updated throughout. In the event of a serious emergency we work in conjunction with a 24-hour vet.
How much notice do you require for scheduling?
We like to have as much notice as possible, but we try to accommodate short notices (less than a week) whenever we can. We realize that sometimes our clients are unable to avoid a short notice (emergencies, travel for work, etc.) so we try to do our best to accommodate those needs.
Just remember that the sooner you schedule, the better the odds of securing the time you need.
Please understand that short notice visits require extra effort on our part and may be subject to additional fees (usually 10-20%). Please also note that the pet sit time may be shorter if we are having to fit the sitting into our already busy schedules. We will, however, do everything we can to be there when needed in an emergency.
All extra fees must be included in your payment for short notice scheduling.
Do you work on weekends and holidays? Is there an extra fee?
Yes, we work 7 days a week and every holiday! There is no additional charge for weekend visits but most holiday periods are subject to an additional charge, which can vary depending on the holiday.
Will I have the same pet sitter each time?
We prefer the continuity of the same pet sitter each time. However, if the sitter is not available then a fully informed substitute sitter will be available for back up.
May I book my visits through the pet sitter directly?
No, we ask that all visits be booked through U&Pet via our website or by calling 202-717-4008. Your visits will NOT be covered under our liability insurance if you do not book through U&Pet. You may have your sitter’s cell phone number, but please contact us for bookings and cancellations. All official communications should go through U&Pet.
Do you do overnight visits?
Yes, we do accept overnight sitting. We have two different options; either pet sitting in your home or in a pet sitter's home.
